You Are Enough

Today, I want to talk about something very powerful in our lives, and that is this – the idea that we are not enough, and the fallacy that that thought is.

Here’s the truth of the matter – you are enough. You are more than enough. And the reason you are more than enough is because you are all that is. We all are.

While our senses like to take us throughout our day, seeing us as separate from everyone, the fact is that it is simply not true. That is just not the case in the reality of things. Even though everything in our lives seems to tell us that we are completely separate, the truth of the matter is we are not. We are all in fact, one.

When we hurt other people, we hurt ourselves.
When we wrong other people, we wrong ourselves.
And when we love other people, we love ourselves.

And so, my challenge to you today is this – it’s to take a moment to get quiet, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and look inward, and to recognize, to have an awareness, of whether or not you have a story inside of yourself that says that you are not enough.

Look deep, it could be buried by all sorts of other thoughts.

But if it’s there, when you get calm, and you take a deep breath, multiple deep breaths to calm your body, to calm your mind, to calm the chatter that is constantly in our minds, to really feel if that is the case for you.

If it’s not the case where you have a story that you are not enough, then that’s fantastic, and I congratulate you on that.

If you are a person with that story, I am not enough, then what I would like you to do is this: just sit with that feeling for a moment. I know it’s uncomfortable, and that you want to do everything in your power to get rid of that feeling. But I really suggest you just sit with that feeling. Sit with the idea that I am not enough. And how does it feel? Where do you feel that in your body?

For me, when I thought about it, I felt it right in my solar plexus. I could feel it like a tight ball of nerves, just sitting in there.

So feel it, and then talk to it. Why are you here? What are you here to do for me?

All of these feelings that we have, all of these energies that build up inside of our bodies are here for a purpose. They do something, whether it is to try and keep you safe, or any other reason.

For me, I find a lot of times, these feelings gather in my body to try and keep me safe. But the thing is that while it’s trying to keep me safe, it is also holding me back, and it’s holding you back from achieving everything that you want in life.

So the goal is to release these energies, not to ignore them, not to suppress them, because then they don’t go away, but to actually simply release these energies. The way to do that is to have a conversation with it, and just say, why are you here? And just hear an answer.

It might seem like you’re totally making it up. It probably will, especially the first couple of times. I admit, when I first did this, it felt really weird, really awkward, like I was just talking to myself.

But just ask this energy, “Why are you here? What are you here to do for me?”” Hear its answer, and then let it know that you appreciate it, that you love it. Send the energy of love to this energy and say, “I appreciate everything that you have done for me to this point. However, I feel, I know, that I am enough. I am enough.”

If you really feel that, and you feel that while sending love to this energy, it will dissipate.

This happened for me, this happened for other people, and I know it can happen for you, today.

So just sit with it and let it know that you’re enough. Send it the energy of love. That’s what does it. That’s what helps dissipate that energy. Send it the energy of love, let it know that you are enough, and this feeling, this tightness somewhere in your body, that you are not enough, will go away.

And then you will know, you will understand, that you in fact, are enough, because you are, because you are part of everything.

You are everything, as we all are.
